Muller Recovery provides structured sober living for men ages 18-35 in early recovery. We're not a treatment center or halfway house; we're a home where guys learn to stay sober and build lives worth living.

Mat Muller, our founder, is in his mid-30s with nearly a decade of sobriety. He works full-time as a recovery counselor and created Muller Recovery because he knows how hard it is to stay sober once treatment ends.
"I opened this sober house because I've seen how difficult it is for people to stay sober once the structure of treatment ends. After building my own stable life in recovery, I wanted to create a supportive and accountable environment that is genuinely fun to be a part of. This is the house I would choose today if I ever had to start my recovery over."
Mat's faith is his foundation; his growth mindset is his compass; and his gift for authentic connection creates a space where defenses come down, and real healing happens.
Here's what most people don't see: the pattern starts in childhood.
Neural pathways form early. Kids learn to avoid uncomfortable emotions. By the teen years, those avoidance behaviors solidify: scrolling, numbing, escaping. By young adulthood, substances become the solution. Relationships fracture. Marriages fail. And by the time people enter the workforce, they're bringing decades of unprocessed pain with them.
But here's the truth: The goal isn't to eliminate pain, it's to grow the capacity to hold and respect it.
Through that holding and understanding the purpose behind the emotion, pain is processed, released, and transformed into integration and conscious choice. Empowerment.
This isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about revealing what's always been whole.
The numbers tell the story:
This is the continuum: childhood → teen avoidance → adult addiction → damaged relationships → workplace dysfunction.
Shaw Enterprises interrupts this pattern at any point, teaching teens, adults, and workplace teams to process emotions rather than avoid them, using the neuroscience-backed TRIGGERZ® program.
Muller Recovery provides residential support when addiction has already taken hold, offering structure, accountability, and fellowship for men rebuilding their lives in recovery.
Two organizations. One continuum. Prevention and recovery working together to break the cycle.

Shaw Enterprises was awarded an $81,000 Kansas Community Grant to deliver the TRIGGERZ® program to at-risk teens ages 12-18 in Wyandotte, Geary, Harvey, and Reno counties.
The challenge: The grant operates on a reimbursement basis. We must deliver care before funding arrives.
The deadline: February 1, 2026 to raise funds so sessions can begin March 1, 2026.
The solution: Philanthropic donations, foundation sponsorships, and corporate sponsorships processed through Muller Recovery Inc. (501c3) provide immediate funding and full tax benefits.

When companies sponsor TRIGGERZ® workplace programs for their employees, Shaw Enterprises matches that investment to provide free programming for teens.
Your team gets: Reduced burnout, better productivity, stronger emotional intelligence
Teens get: Free access to prevention programming that interrupts addiction before it starts
This is prevention that pays forward, for your workforce today and the workforce of tomorrow.
"Being able to move into a house with people I've gotten sober with and people I've been able to help get sober has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. It's a house where everyone gives everything they can to help each other succeed in sobriety and I'm glad I found it especially with the circumstances I was dealing with at the time. God's timing couldn't have been better."
